Ilkka Sammelvuo has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Ropo Capital Finland and as a member of the Ropo Capital Group Management Team starting from 1 November 2020. For the past nine years, Sammelvuo has worked in leadership and development positions with Ropo Capital’s information management and technologies. He has been Group Chief Technology Officer since 2017.
The appointment is part of Ropo Capital’s organizational renewal, the aim of which is to create an organizational structure that best supports client relationships, the customer experience and client-centric development, as well as Ropo Capital Group’s international growth strategy.
Ilkka Sammelvuo, 41, has a Master’s degree in computer science from the University of Eastern Finland in Kuopio. He is a former professional volleyball player whose 14-year career included, among other things, four Finnish Championships, three Finnish Cup titles, 11 international matches playing for the Finnish national team and three seasons in the Pro A volleyball league in France. He is originally from Pudasjärvi, but has lived in Kuopio since 1998.

Ropo Capital has grown significantly in recent years and is targeting the leading position in invoice lifecycle management across the Nordic countries. The company’s growth has been accelerated through acquisitions – Ropo Capital has announced that it is acquiring Posti Messaging in Sweden and Norway to strengthen its position on the Nordic market.
Ropo Capital was founded in Finland, with its roots deep in the Northern Savo region. Ropo Capital Group is headquartered in Kuopio, Finland, where most of the group’s executives and operations such as technologies, brand, communications and marketing are located. With its organizational renewal, Ropo Capital is focusing on strong, country-specific organizations. In Finland, the goal is to further increase market share, boost the company’s customer-centric mindset and maintain Finland’s strong position in Ropo Capital’s growth.

From 1 November 2020 it will comprise Group CEO Rickard Westlund, Group CCO Sami Levy, Group CFO Toni Rönkkö, Managing Director for Ropo Capital Sweden Jonas Ramstedt and Group CTO and Managing Director for Ropo Capital Finland Ilkka Sammelvuo.
